To commemorate the 57th anniversary of the 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery March and the ongoing fight for voting rights today, national organizations from across the country are coming together to host a series of events as part of the re-enactment of the Selma to Montgomery March.
DC Vote’s Bo Shuff and Kelsye Adams along with Black Voters Matter co-founders LaTosha Brown and Cliff Albright will be on the ground in Alabama on Wednesday, March 9th. The schedule is as follows:
9:00am – Press Conference at Wright Chapel AME Church, Viola Liuzzo Monument (near mile marker 111), 2093 US-80, Lowndesboro, Alabama 36752
11:40am – Lunch and Rally at Canaan Hill Baptist Church (near mile marker 116.3), 3444 Highway 80 East, Lowndesboro, Alabama 36752
3:00pm – Fight for the Vote Rally at the finish line, Church of Christ North Lowndes (near mile marker 119.6), US-80, Hope Hall, Alabama 36043
